SAILWASHU

WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY IN ST. LOUIS

SAILING TEAM

ABOUT

the team.

The Washington University in St. Louis sailing team is focused on introducing Wash U students to the sport of dinghy sailing and racing. Additionally, we strive to develop the skills of advanced Wash U sailors so that they are able to compete in collegiate regattas. The Wash U sailing team is a member of the Wash U Sports Club Board and holds club status. We are funded by Wash U Student Union and member dues.

The team practices out at Lake Carlyle, which is a reservoir in Illinois about an hour away. In addition to practices, we compete in two to three regattas per semester. These regattas are held throughout the Midwest and are a great experience for anyone interested in sailing. Aside from sailing, we also conduct dry-land practices to train new members or improve veteran sailors in a classroom setting. Lastly, we do team bonding events such as team dinners. If you are an incoming student to Wash U or already a current student and are interested in sailing, please get in contact with us. We hope to see you on the water!
